What Is The True Way To Pray?

In this episode we embark on a captivating journey into the heart of prayer, a universal form of communication with the Divine shared across all religions. As is our custom, we turn to the scriptures of Muslims, Christians, and Jews to uncover the authentic method and profound significance behind this sacred practice. While the outward expressions of prayer may vary, a common thread emerges—the act of prostration, of placing one's face upon the ground. This posture is not only found in different variations within all three faiths, but it is also mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments. We encounter numerous passages where prophets humbly fall to their faces in prayer, whether before the Divine or in the presence of an angel. Curiously, many contemporary Muslims view prostration before a creation as inappropriate. Yet, delving into the stories within the Quran, we unearth the key to unraveling this enigma. One pivotal moment arises when God commands the angels to prostrate before Adam, an act that Iblis defiantly rejects in favor of his own form of worship. At this juncture, God makes it unequivocally clear that this is the manner in which He desires to be worshiped—through the being in whom He breathed His own spirit. Can we now reexamine Islamic prayer through this illuminating lens? Join us in this episode, where we traverse the intricate landscapes of prayer. Together, we contemplate the profound implications of this sacred practice across faiths and seek to deepen our understanding of its true essence. Stay tuned for an episode that promises to challenge perceptions and foster a deeper connection to the Divine.
