Coronavirus Vaccine: Finding Immunity Faster Without Animals

Coronavirus Vaccine: Finding Immunity Faster Without Animals

The key to developing a successful coronavirus vaccine likely lies in those who have already survived the virus. That is the opinion of Dr. John Pippin who joins , "The Weight Loss Champion" Chuck Carroll on The Exam Room™ podcast to talk about fast-tracked efforts to develop a vaccine without testing on animals.

Dr. Pippin explains how bypassing usually mandatory animal testing may lead to a viable vaccine becoming available years sooner than it otherwise would be. Moving directly to human trials would also save countless animal lives and save developers millions of dollars in expenses. Potentially those savings would lead to lower costs for the medication.

With such promise, could the future of all drug testing become animal free? That is what Chuck and Dr. Pippin will explore.

Plus, in this time when we're all hyperaware of our health we revisit an age-old question: can an apple a day actually keep the doctor away? Dietitian Susan Levin joins the show to dish on all the fantastic health benefits the popular fruit has to offer!
