Was he trying to escape? That's the question today after a 400-pound gorilla at the San Diego Zoo went on a rampage slamming into the glass partition so hard... It shattered! Families at the zoo were understandably afraid for their safety. You'd think President Trump would be happy about this... he’s on the cover of Time magazine... With the headline "His Triumph" - referring to brokering the peace deal in The Middle East. But he's giving it thumbs down. AI prank warning! You've heard about all sorts of ways AI technology is being used... But it comes with a warning. Many on social media are using AI to prank their families making it look like someone is inside their home. Now cops are saying, fake images are sometimes leading to real problems. It's being called death in apartment 603. There are major developments today in the case of the teacher found dead with more than 20 stab wounds. The medical examiner ruled it a suicide. Inside Edition for Monday, January 30, 2023

The week begins with more national outcry over the fatal beating of Tyre Nichols by five Memphis police officers. Over the weekend, the nation watched the extremely disturbing police bodycam video showing what happened in real time. Now the question is - what can be done about the toxic culture of violence that exists in certain police departments across the country so this doesn't happen again? Jim Moret has our report, and again we warn you - the video is upsetting. And it's official! We now know the Superbowl matchup will be between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. Celebrations spilled out into the streets in both cities, and in Philly things got really wild when some revelers ended up crashing right through the top of a glass bus stop canopy. Plus, what's it like to drive through the eye of a tornado?!? A grandmother in Texas found out first hand as she tried to escape the storm with her daughter and grandson, and she calls the experience terrifying. And Donald Trump made his first campaign stops this weekend in his 2024 run for the White House, and already its getting stormy- literally! Today the Manhattan D.A.'s office began presenting evidence to a grand jury about Trump allegedly paying hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels during his 2016 presidential campaign, laying the groundwork for potential criminal charges - but Trump is hitting back.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. The entire nation is on edge bracing for today's release of the bodycam video showing 29-year-old Tyre Nichols being beaten by five Memphis police officers leading to his death. The officers have been charged with murder, and the victim's family has called for calm. However, there's still expected to be strong reaction to the video that the police chief says is the worst she's ever seen. And earlier this week we told you about an arrest being made in the murder of a Microsoft executive who was gunned down as his toddler watched. Cops say the suspect didn't act alone...and that's making the murdered man's widow nervous that she could be in danger herself. Plus, the murder trial continued today for one-time prominent attorney, Alex Murdaugh, who's charged with fatally shooting his wife and son. At one point Murdaugh broke into sobs as audio was played of him being interviewed by detectives at the crime scene. Murdaugh has pleaded not guilty. When you think of seafood in a can you think sardines, but there are lots of other tinned fish in the sea...and they're now the go-to romantic meal for couples.   To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Testimony has begun in the trial of once prominent attorney Alex Murdaugh. Murdaugh is charged with shooting his wife and younger son in cold blood, in what prosecutors allege was a bizarre attempt to gain sympathy and distract from a number of fraud charges he was facing. Steven Fabien says the trial opened with gruesome testimony from the first cop to arrive at the murder scene. Alex Murdaugh claims he wasn't at the family hunting lodge when his wife and son were murdered. And It is a fact…the majority of college sexual assault cases involve alcohol. Prosecutors say a young woman was not only assaulted, but died after a night of partying at her local college bar. Ann Mercogliano has more on the events that led to her death…and the bar that has had its liquor license suspended. Plus, remember that $2 billion lottery drawing on election day, in which a single ticket was the winner? Well, that winner hasn't yet come forward...which we hope means that some lucky person is busy getting their life set up, knowing they are about to be very, very rich. And the search for eternal youth has been going on forever…the ancient Greeks wrote about it back in 484 BC. However, this guy thinks he may have a way to put his body clock in rewind. A tense standoff in a hospital ward ended when cops subdued and arrested a 76-year-old woman accused of murdering her ailing husband. As Ann Mercogliano reports, authorities believe the couple had a murder suicide pact…but say the woman got cold feet after shooting her husband. And there was an arrest in the murder of a Microsoft executive who was gunned down as his toddler watched from the car. A convicted felon…possibly a hired hitman has been charged. However, cops say they are certain he did not act alone. Plus, the clean-up is on after as many as a dozen tornadoes tore across Texas. Part of a massive weather system wreaking havoc as it crosses the nation. In Houston, the weather service declared a tornado emergency, its most dire type of warning…with fast moving storms forcing people to run for their lives. And they were a place for socialization and exercise. However, after last weekend's deadly shooting at the California dance hall, how hard will it be to return the ballroom? As Jim Moret reports, some patrons are taking it step by step. The investigation continues into the massacre that left 11 people dead and others wounded in a California dance hall. Last night there was a candlelight vigil in memory of the eleven victims in the worst mass shooting in Los Angeles County history. And as Jim Moret reports at other ballroom dance centers across America, patrons remain jittery. And truth challenged Republican Congressman George Santos has become the butt of late night jokes - being parodied on Saturday Night Live and elsewhere. But maybe Santos shouldn’t have commented about it. After he tweeted that his imitators were terrible, the mockery has escalated. Plus, we've told you how catalytic converter theft is on the rise - they're extremely easy to steal and are made with high-value precious metals. However, one thief messed with the wrong car owner. As Les Trent reports, when he saw a guy with a buzz saw under his car, he fought back. And she's the highest earning female college athlete with quite a rowdy fan base...but what's it like to be at a gymnastics meet with LSU's Olivia Dunne? Well, we went to experience Livvy mania firsthand.    To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. It's called the “Hype House” - a mansion where the most popular TikTok stars around lived and performed wacky stunts...but the owner of the rental property is not happy – claiming some of the antics destroyed his house. And the day after he was charged with involuntary manslaughter, Alec Baldwin covered his face as he was swarmed by photographers outside his New York apartment building. He didn't say a word...but his wife Hilaria is sending a clear message to America right on her sweatshirt. Plus, we've told you about the American public defender who died earlier this month while in Mexico celebrating his first wedding anniversary. Big reaction to the news Alec Baldwin has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. It comes 15 months after a cinematographer was killed on a movie set after a real bullet somehow ended up in Baldwin's prop gun. The dead woman's family is letting their feelings known saying "no one is above the law." And don't mess with this nun! When she heard a would-be burglar on her roof - she kicked away his ladder, leaving him stranded. Steven Fabian spoke with this crimefighting sister. Plus, he was the beloved dog of one of the victims in the quadruple University of Idaho murders. Could Murphy the golden doodle end up being the key to the case? Investigators say they've found what's possibly an animal hair strand inside alleged killer Bryan Kohberger's apartment. So is it Murphy's? And a guy went through a McDonalds drive thru and along with his McMuffin, he was given $5,000 in cash…so what's going on?   To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices.
