Episode 8. The Opposite of Shadow is Light

Episode 8. The Opposite of Shadow is Light

I grew up in AZ and I remember always being on the lookout for shadows esp in summertime. Finding a shadow meant shade and shade meant RELIEF-the sidewalk covered by the shadow was at least 10-15 degrees cooler than the surrounding area. A shadow is a dark area where light from a light source is blocked by an opaque object. It is created when something (an object) is blocking the light keeping whatever is beyond it in darkness. I’ve been thinking a lot about light, knowledge, & shadows and specifically the blessing we are promised of receiving further light and knowledge. We are promised that the person who "... receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day.” (D&C 50:23–24.). Translated from Greek, perfect denotes fullness or completion, an accomplished end. The doctrine of the restoration tells us that “perfect day” has not yet arrived, we are still seeking more and more light that will inevitably grow brighter. Listen in as I share the vital role played by our doubts which lead to questions and how ultimately leads to further light and knowledge as individuals as well as on a collective, much larger scale.
