Welcome back to Pop Palace! 🌟 Host Jack returns with Season 2 to celebrate the iconic career of Grace Jones, diving into her groundbreaking disco-era albums Portfolio (1977) and Fame (1978).

Before stepping into the studio, Grace ruled the Paris and NYC runways—but music was always her destiny. Signing with Island Records and teaming up with legendary producer Tom Moulton, she crafted Portfolio, a disco debut full of ambition and drama. Side one offered a medley of Broadway classics, while side two gave us the unforgettable cover of "La Vie en Rose" 🌹—a song that would become her signature. The single "I Need a Man" quickly became a club anthem, especially among LGBTQ+ audiences, launching Grace into icon status.

The following year, Fame elevated her vision even further. With bold tracks like "Do or Die" and a haunting rendition of "Autumn Leaves", Grace pushed the limits of disco with theatrical flair and avant-garde edge. Though both albums received mixed critical reception, they ignited dance floors across Europe and the U.S., laying the foundation for a pop culture legend unafraid to defy expectations.
