751: Surrender With Angel Pai
Angel Pai is an actor, TV host, model, humanitarian and jewelry designer. Angel Pai was born in Taipei, Taiwan and moved to New York City at the age of six. She was a competitive martial artist in Taekwondo throughout her teenage years and has won eight gold medals in national championships. Her athleticism was showcased worldwide in GNC campaigns two years in a row, 2010 and 2011. She also trained in fencing and archery. As a fine artist, she began exhibiting oil paintings at age nine, having won numerous art awards, and while attending the prestigious Stuyvesant high school in New York City, was chosen to exhibit in association with the Museum of Modern Art. She studied medicine at a young age and was on her path to becoming a neurosurgeon when she was discovered for her dynamic personality after walking in a runway show. She was offered a job on the spot to host for InTheMix, interviewing celebrities on the red carpet. She moved on to host segments for MTV- IGGY and the Travel Channel. As a fashion model, her diverse body of work spans across runway shows, campaigns, and commercials worldwide, including publications such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, ELLE, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Maxim, GQ, Self, Shape, Women's Health, Fitness, and more. In the summer of 2009, Angel placed in the top four of the Miss Asia pageant, as well as earning the Miss Fitness crown and a top five title in the talent competition for her dance performance. Sophie Cheung is a photographer, filmmaker and designer. Sophie Cheung Visuals is a creative studio inspired by cinema and global culture. Our projects have appeared in numerous print and online magazines, including Vogue’s PhotoVogue “Best Of” feature. Cheung has photographed and directed for prominent actors, musicians, and influencers including Jenn Im (Forbes Influencer 2017), Arden Cho. Originally trained in architecture in her native Hong Kong, the photographer recently earned her Master’s in Digital Photography from New York’s School of Visual Arts. Her first short film, The Dragon Dream, explores the academic pressures placed on Asian youth. Yes, you heard right, there is a whole community of people who go exploring with their cats, from hiking, to kayaking, to bookstores and even to brunch. Hasara has a background in Chemical Engineering and Marketing. She is also mum to 2 rescue cats, Lumos & Noxie. While training Lumos & Noxie to be catexplorers she noticed a gap in the market and created Catexplorer to fill that gap. Catexplorer has since provided a sense of belonging & support to so many people around the world, who explore with their cats. She launched her first restaurant at The M Resort and Casino, Las Vegas in 2013. She was born in Manhattan but was raised mostly in San Francisco. She spent her summers in France with her grandparents while her parents worked.
