Knock Knock Eye: Why An Eye Exam Could Make You Faint

We get into what a vasovagal reaction is, why the eye seems to be such a common trigger for fainting, and what you can actually do in the moment to keep your blood pressure from tanking. From there I go into the oculocardiac reflex, which is a genuinely wild phenomenon where manipulating the muscles around your eye can drop your heart rate enough to cause cardiac arrest, plus how it shows up clinically when someone has a trapped eye muscle from an orbital fracture.
