S1 Episode 4 - down by the river

Bug hunt in a new spot - today I'm by a local river which I didn't really know was here. It's amazing what you find when you follow a new path without worrying about being late. While lockdown has been rubbish in so many ways, just one of the 'silver linings' for me, has been the removal of the daily commute and the ability to claim back some time each evening during what has, for the most part, been glorious weather. The stretch of river I am visiting today runs beneath / crosses a disused railway line that is now a foot and cycle path, and forms the Eastern boundary of an urban Forest Park created on the site of an old landfill site in the early 2000's and which is now a real beauty spot and haven for a multitude of wild bird, and wildlife species. I discovered it quite recently, and decided to investigate the river bank further, one Sunday, when I had an hour or so to spare before a Zoom call with friends. Needless to say I got lost in the moments - so this is an amble along the riverbank with observations of what came up - and made it back 'by the skin of my teeth'.
