VGK hosts red-hot Canes Monday night

Fresh off a 3-point road trip, the Golden Knights return to T-Mobile Arena Monday night. VGK will try to run their home record to 9-0 to start the season as they face the Carolina Hurricanes. The Canes had their 8 game win streak snapped Saturday night in Colorado. The Golden Knights had to rally late on Friday night in Seattle to force overtime on an Alex Pietrangelo goal at 18:38. But their second big turnover of the night was costly just :28 into O.T. and Jared McCann scored the game-winner. The miscue was by Jack Eichel and earlier in the contest, Brayden McNabb had a bad cross-ice turnover that led to Brandon Tanev's breakaway goal. One of the bright spots for VGK was Pavel Dorofeyev, who scored his eighth goal of the season and fourth on the power play, which leads the team.
