Ep. 540 Daniele Proietti of Abbia Nòva Winery Part 2 | Monty Interviews

Italian Wine Podcast Episode 540 Part 2 Monty Waldin continues his chat with Daniele Proietti, of Abbia Nòva Winery, to know more about their natural agricultural approach. We come from humble farming families. We have a natural agricultural approach, often quite personal, in constant flux, that reflects who we are: a fusion of local traditions and of something that is deeply cultural, that we’ve built from the teachings and influences of the many natural methods that we’ve experimented through the years. Maybe because our grandparents handed over their hoe to our right hand and a metaphorical library to the other, that we’ve used to deepen the various agricultural approaches, treasure them and fuse them with our own. That hoe represents the viticultural tradition of Piglio, which has existed for two thousand years, on volcanic soils, with obsessive care for plants and vineyards that have always coexisted with gardens, fruit trees and animals. Our cellar is a small country house in the mountains, on the consular Roman road that took from Lazio to Abruzzo, two rooms with amphoras, concrete, wood and demijohn glass jugs. Our only tools, coordinated only by our heads and hands. Ep. 539 Nicole Brassard | Get US Market Ready with Italian Wine People

Italian Wine Podcast ep. 539: Get US Market Ready with Italian Wine People. Steve Raye sits down with Nicole Brassard. Nicole Brassard Jordan, Deputy Commissioner, NHLC: Nicole Brassard Jordan is a 30-year industry veteran and Deputy Commissioner of the New Hampshire Liquor Commission. In her role, Jordan is responsible for conceptualizing and implementing industry-leading strategies to increase sales throughout the state’s 76 NH Liquor & Wine Outlet locations and off-premise channels. She previously was the first female to serve as Director of Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, and Warehousing and still oversees those areas of the business. Under Jordan’s leadership, NHLC has received numerous accolades, including an “A rating” for consumer access to wine by The American Wine Consumer Coalition and was named “The Best State in America for wine drinkers” by the Washington Post. Most recently, NHLC was honored as the nation’s top control state by StateWays Magazine, which recognized New Hampshire for its innovative programs and focus on responsible consumption. Jordan began her career in the food industry working in restaurants and a private retail shop. Jordan joined NHLC in 1988 as a retail store clerk. Eventually she was promoted to assistant manager and then store manager at one of NHLC’s signature NH Liquor & Wine Outlet locations. Prior to her current position, Jordan served for 13 years as NHLC’s wine marketing specialist, where she steadily grew NHLC’s wine sales to 44 percent of the overall business. Jordan played a key role in establishing New Hampshire Wine Week, a customer-focused, week-long celebration of wine that draws more than 60 of the world’s leading winemakers to New Hampshire each January to participate in intimate wine dinners, bottle-signings and tasting events. The week culminates with the largest wine tasting event north of Boston, the Winter Wine Spectacular, which has drawn thousands of guests and raised nearly $2 million for charity over the last 14 years. Outside of work, Jordan is an avid cyclist, runner and community volunteer. She and her husband David enjoy renovating their 1900 New Englander home in Manchester. You know, Italy has decided to go on with the daylight saving time and I am really happy about it because it makes me more aware of life in general, other than surprising me every time when at 8 pm the sun is still kinda out glazing the city with the golden light and I'm like 😍😍😍. But veniamo a noi. Today Mr. Flysch will go back to his favorite subject: soil! And he talks 🌋VoLcAnOs🌋. This episode will make your knowledge erupt, your soil-talking skills will be hot like lava, you'll be spitting out soil facts as if they were lapilli. Ep. 534 Paul Quaglini | Get US Market Ready with Italian Wine People

Italian Wine Podcast ep. 534: Get US Market Ready with Italian Wine People. Steve Raye sits down with Paul Quaglini There are reviews for geeks, and then there are reviews for the rest of the world,” said Paul Quaglini when asked if he believed in giving wines a numeric rating (the verdict: they’re a “necessary evil”). Paul is ABC’s wine supervisor covering the country of Italy who believes that people generally get too caught up in finding the perfect wine. “If you like it, it’s good wine. Your palate is the most important judge,” explained Paul. His palate’s favorite: Italian Sangiovese. If he had the option, Paul would love to host a dinner party at his house with special guests Piero Antinori, Abe Lincoln and Antonio Galloni, while serving Sangiovese, of course. Paul has had the pleasure of visiting Italy, most frequently the Tuscany area, about a dozen times and considers it to be his favorite travel destination. He loves to travel, but notes that if you’re not too into wine, “the trips would be grueling.” Incidents such as losing luggage or a delayed flight are merely minor hiccups to Paul. “You have to roll with the punches when you travel. Those are just inconveniences that become part of the story. Ep. 533 #everybodyneedsabitofscienza | Scienza asks Stevie

Howdy dear wine fans! Here we are, yet another friday here, for a second we were able to enjoy a glimpse of spring but oh well that didn't last long.. But you know what else doesn't last long? Sadly, this episode.. This time it was Scienza's turn to ask a question and oh well did he! Stevie was kind of piss&d 0ff because she felt like the Professore couldn't get her point... I mean, we're talking about Clubhouse, Softwares and Hardwares, Stevie, you can't be this demanding! You yourself said you don't really understand 40% of what the Professore says so for once it could be the same, just from his side...... Well, I'll let you wine qweens and keengs be the judge. Luv ya Let's keep in touch!
