15 tips for amazing results on the ketogenic diet - Ben Azadi KKP: 221

In this episode, Ben Azadi reveals 15 tips for mastering the ketogenic diet. Free Keto Masterclass: http://www.ketosismasterclass.com Free Keto Blueprint: http://www.ketokampblueprint.com TIMESTAMPS: 1:14 Overview 01:40 Keto is not a diet. Keto is a metabolic process. Every single one of our ancestors follow the ketogenic diet. Their environment put them in ketosis. 02:35 We are born in ketosis. Babies that are breastfed go in and out of ketosis because breast milk is made of saturated fat and cholesterol. Studies: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15573408/, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15916931/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10652985/ 03:30 How ketosis works inside the body at the cellular level. 06:08 The difference between burning sugar (glucose) and burning fat (ketones). Sugar burners vs fat burners. 06:45 How keto helps to reduce inflammation inside of the body. 07:45 The real cause of weight gain and weight loss resistance. 09:20 The first tip: Focus on health over fat loss. You do not lose weight to be healthy. You get healthy to lose weight. Pay attention to non-scale victories, and get keto blood work done. 11:45 If LDL goes up with keto, get the NMR test to determine the LDL particle sizes. 13:00 The second tip: Electrolyte dumping. Do this to avoid the keto flu, and other common symptoms on the ketogenic diet. Here are my favorite electrolyte & mineral supplements: Redmond’s Real Salt: https://bit.ly/38NsoPi use the coupon code azadi for 10% off Redmond’s Re-Lyte Electrolyte Powder: https://bit.ly/3rJTsYf use the coupon code azadi for 10% off Micro Daily: https://www.microdaily.com/ketokamp/micro-daily 14:45 The third tip: Follow the 2/2/2/2 rule to help your body use fatty acids for fuel instead of glucose. This is a great way to transition into ketosis quickly without any keto side effects. 2 tablespoons of avocado oil or olive oil 2 tablespoons of coconut oil or mct oil 2 tablespoons of grass fed butter or ghee 2 teaspoons of sea salt 15:55 The fourth tip: Consume bitters to help your liver and gallbladder produce bile. Bile acts as a detergent to break down fat. Most people have sluggish bile leading to keto digestive issues such as constipation, diarrhea, and not feeling good on keto. If you don’t have a gallbladder on keto, it can still be done with some considerations. Here is a video on 5 ways to follow the ketogenic diet without a gallbladder: https://youtu.be/Z6nwyhh3Zac 17:07 The best ways to support your liver on keto. Here are my favorite sources of keto bitters to help with keto digestion, and helping you feel better in ketosis. 18:55 The fifth tip: How do you calculate macros on keto? Discover if you should cut calories on the ketogenic diet. 20:30 Why more protein on keto is better. No, consuming protein on keto will not knock you out of a ketosis. Here is a recent video I did debunking common keto protein myths: https://youtu.be/I1o89fSlcAw 21:19 Number six and number seven tip: Gradually decrease carbohydrates on keto to under 50 total grams per day, and stop snacking in between your keto meals. 22:30 How the fat storage hormone insulin causes weight gain even on keto. 23:45 Number eight tip: How to test and measure ketones in the body. The optimal ranges for blood ketones and blood glucose, and advance glucose testing postprandial (after eating). Keto Mojo Blood Ketone Machine: https://amzn.to/34VRSsQ BioSense Breath Ketone Meter: https://bit.ly/3aXV9vy use KETOKAMP at checkout for $20 off. 26:50 Number nine tip: Clean keto vs dirty keto. Additional research on why vegetable oils are so bad for you. MIT Professor Brian Peskin: Keto Kamp Podcast interview: https://apple.co/2MOCtAK, The PEO Solution - Conquering Cancer, Diabetes and Heart Disease with Parent Essential Oils: https://amzn.to/34ZzgrQ Dr Cate Shanahan interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58aGiekcwRA 30:45 The best fats to eat on the keto diet. 31:43 Number 10 tip: If you experience sugar and carbohydrate cravings on keto, do this. Cinnamon. It has an active ingredient called polyphenol; this activates your cell receptor sites and wakes up your cells by allowing glucose to get into the cell. Cinnamon has been used for over 4,000 years. It is high in antioxidants. #7 ORAC score, antioxidant score. cinnamon blood sugar study in type 2 diabetics: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1... Cinnamon for diabetes can help block the activity of several digestive enzymes to slow the absorption of sugar in the bloodstream after a high-carb meal https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2/ Many studies have shown that people with type 2 diabetes can experience significant positive effects on blood sugar markers by supplementing with cinnamon extract. FENUGREEK With trace nutrients (iron, manganese, copper) and a variety of antioxidants, fenugreek is a wonderful keto herb. In a study published in the Journal of Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders, it was also observed that the control ground had a "4.2 times higher chance of developing type-2 diabetes compared to subjects in the fenugreek group.” CLOVES Consuming cloves can help stop sugar cravings as well. In a study, 30 type-2 diabetics were given capsules containing zero, one, two or three grams of cloves each day for a month to observe their serum glucose levels. Researchers of the study suggested that consuming one to three grams of cloves per day is beneficial for type-2 diabetics to better manage their glucose and total cholesterol levels.” GINSENG In several human studies American ginseng lowered blood sugar levels in people with type-2 diabetes. The blood sugar lowering effect was seen both on fasting blood sugar and on postprandial (after eating) glucose levels. Drink ginseng tea before or after your keto meals. L-GLUTAMINE L-glutamine calms the part of your brain that lights up when you experience a sugar/carb craving. It turns out, sugar is as addicting as cocaine, and some say sugar is 8 times more addicting than cocaine. Wow. Take 500mg of l-glutamine powder, up to 3 times each day. I recommend this one: https://amzn.to/3aXo7vu 32:55 The 11th tip: What are the best sweeteners for keto? 33:43 The 12th tip: Master sleep and stress on keto. Stress (cortisol) will raise glucose and insulin, dropping ketone production. This can prevent you from getting into ketosis, or even knock you out of ketosis. My favorite self development books. These books changed my life: https://kit.co/ketokamp/mental-six-pack-self-development 37:40 Not sleeping on keto? Follow these tips for better sleep tonight. The Power of Sleep book: https://amzn.to/3pJGLL 38:47 The 13th tip: Pair intermittent fasting with keto. Follow this 18/6 daily intermittent fasting schedule to achieve more fat loss on keto. 39:50 The 14th tip: Having a keto community is key. 42:55 The 15th tip: Do not stay in ketosis for too long. The thyroid can begin to dysfunction on the ketogenic diet. 46:25 How to practice keto flexing (keto flex) with the 5-1-1 rule 47:50 Why you don’t feel good on keto. How toxins make you fat. When to Eat Carbs For Fat Loss, Intermittent Fasting For Serious Weight Loss, With Jay Campbell: KKP 51

When to Eat Carbs For Fat Loss, Intermittent Fasting For Serious Weight Loss, With Jay Campbell: KKP 51

Today, I am blessed to have here with me, Jay Campbell, a best-selling author, podcast host, and champion male physique competitor.   Jay is also the Founder of TOTRevolution.com and the globally recognized TOT Revolution and Optimized Life Podcasts. Both podcasts interview the top Optimization physicians and Subject Matter Experts who answer questions and provide their decades of experience to help Men and Women become fully optimized. Jay also created OptimizedForever, the world's #1 premium group for optimizing hormones and long term health.   Jay is a champion male physique competitor who, along with his wife Monica co-founded FabFitOver40.com, the #1 site on the web for people who want high quality and scientifically backed information on staying fit above 40. Jay is also the Co-Owner of MonicaDiazTeam.com (with wife Monica)-a mega-production eXp Realty residential real estate team in Southern California.   In this episode, Jay and I talk about what inspired him to enter the health and wellness space – Jay has always had a keen ability to understand the human body and the different physical talents people possess. First, Jay describes what consciousness means and speaks about his life-changing trip to Peru. Plus, Jay explains how to eliminate fear from our lives by understanding the law of attraction. He also describes the correlation between sleep, muscles, and longevity. Tune in!   Join The Keto Kamp Academy today! http://www.ketokampacademy.com   [08:50] How Jay Got Involved in the Health Space Jay recently came back from Peru – the energy completely transformed his being. Jay is blessed to observe the human figure and has always been able to see people’s athletic abilities. Even as a young child, Jay could see how high a person could jump or how fast they could run. Jay never got into the fitness game full-time until the last seven or eight years. He is continually learning and studying everything about health. At 40, he took his knowledge and continues to push it into mainstream media. When you become a creator, you end up creating so much that you don’t even observe all the things you have put out. “I’ve been blogging since 2003.”   [14:00] About Consciousness It’s an awareness that we are energetic beings. If you could pull back our meat suits and look into our souls – you would see plasmatic electric energy. This could be in the form of an orb. Consciousness is understanding how much more we are than our physical bodies. Truthfully, life is happening fast, so consciousness is difficult to explain. Consciousness and awareness are interchangeable. People who are resistant to the idea of consciousness can still feel it.   [17:00] About Jay’s Trip to Peru   Jay has always been a man that is interested in the realms of understanding mankind’s true ancestry. Jay took massive amounts of videos while in Peru. It is one of those places that defies all logic and reasoning. You become exposed to energetic density – it brings you into a different experience. He hiked insanely beautiful and majestic peaks. He climbed 18,000 feet to the most spectacular view. Check it out on Jay’s Twitter.   [27:00] Ways to Eliminate Fear From Our Lives The best way to eliminate fear is to understand quantum physics. Everything is conscious, alive, and has light in it. We are all beings of energy. The world is a gigantic construct of energy – the energy is infinite. Once you realize this, you know you will not die. When our bodies run out of time, our energy will never stop – it continues, evolves, and expands. Why would you do anything negative? When you speak, act, and think it should always be positive. Media, technology, and the internet want to create a victim culture. It is so easy to play the victim card. Part of being human is understanding that we make every decision in our lives. Do your best to put forward positive words, thoughts, and actions. Everyone knows the law of attraction – what you put out will come back to you.   [32:30] The Correlation Between Muscle and Longevity   Muscle is the most significant deterrent against all the diseases in aging. The more muscle you have in the body, the following things will happen: Burning calories more efficiently Less body fat Greater bone mineral density Makes you insulin sensitive The better you can eat carbs and get away with it   [35:45] Women and Muscles Women never eat enough protein. They end up having spine issues as they get older because they stop producing calcium. A woman has to go to the gym and do resistant type training to strengthen the spine. Don’t think that building muscle means you will look like a bodybuilder.   [39:15] How Sleep Affects our Muscles Jay always tells people that sleep is the number one most disturbing biological function that people experience. We are destroying our ability to sleep by having technology in our rooms. If you aren’t sleeping, then you have no control over your energy. Fat loss happens during sleep – it doesn’t happen at the gym. Sleep is more important than nutrition and exercise.   [44:30] Weight-Loss Tips From Jay The average person who goes to an insurance-covered doctor in America, the likelihood you will be misdiagnosed is over 95%. People are prescribed drugs that make it so much worse. Plus, medications will make our bodies worse and drain us of our money. Metabolic flexibility is where it is at. You have to be able to choose macro and micro fuel sources based on your energetic demand. For instance, if you are a long-distance runner, you might want only ketones for fuel. Fasting for women should be 16-18 hours. For men, it should be at least 20 hours.   [52:15] How to Utilize Fasting If you want to be a person that loses massive amounts of fat mass in the fastest time possible, learn to fast four times a week and train the other three days. Eat keto at night on your fasting days. On your training days, try and consume a low amount of carbs. If you do this for a month, you can lose 10% of pure body fat.   [57:20] Jay’s Definition of an Optimized Life An optimized life is a person who has mastery over spiritual, mental, the heart, and physical aspects of the body. What good is a physical meat suit that is shredded if there is no mindfulness training being completed? All of these things are synergistic.   AND MUCH MORE!   Resources from this episode: Visit TOT Revolution Listen to the Podcast Read the Blog Connect with Jay Campbell: YouTube LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Twitter Burn Fat with The Metabolic Blowtorch Diet: The Ultimate Guide for Optimizing Intermittent Fasting: Burn Fat, Preserve Muscle, Enhance Focus and Transform Your Health The Testosterone Optimization Therapy Bible: The Ultimate Guide to Living a Fully Optimized Life The Definitive Testosterone Replacement Therapy MANual: How to Optimize Your Testosterone For Lifelong Health And Happiness     Grab that $1 Bottle of Olive Oil Join The Keto Kamp Academy today! http://www.ketokampacademy.com Watch Keto Kamp on YouTube   This podcast is for information purposes only. Movement Over Exercise, How to Find Purpose in Life, Gratefulness, With Jeremy Abramson : KKP 48

Movement Over Exercise, How to Find Purpose in Life, Gratefulness, With Jeremy Abramson : KKP 48

Today, I am lucky to have here with me, Jeremy Abramson, the founder of the E3 Lifestyle brand. Jeremy Abramson's purpose in life is to cultivate community and create a lifelong impact on people's lives. After moving his entire life to Florida, overcoming being homeless, and losing what at the time he considered his dream job, he founded E3 Lifestyle.   The E3 Lifestyle brand combines Abramson's knowledge of the mind and body, with his passion for helping others. As the Chief Energy Officer, he is dedicated to helping others unleash their full potential. Abramson has received some of the most coveted certifications in the industry and studied alongside elite professionals like Wim Hof, Aubrey Marcus, Ben Greenfield, and Lewis Howes.   Today, Abramson travels the world, optimizing the health and happiness of athletes, government officials, youth, and high-level CEO's. His customized training, performance, and mindset practices bring out the full capacity and productivity of his clients. The most recent aspect of E3 brings wellness directly into the workplace. He has been brought in as a speaker by brands like WeWork, Capital One, and Miami Made to implement his wellness training programs and inspirational speeches.   As a philanthropist, he makes giving back a priority, talking to youth at several local nonprofit. In 2017, he partnered with Maison Fortuné Orphanage in Haiti and returned for a second trip the following year. As his business and digital following continue to build, his influence follows. In January 2019, he rolled out his first highly anticipated online program, CLIMB. The program aims to optimize your human experience through habit change and self-awareness. It has already been recognized as one of the most impactful coaching programs in the industry.   In this episode, Jeremy and I talk about what has inspired him to start the E3 lifestyle. First, Jeremy reveals how to navigate our self-limiting beliefs. These thoughts we tell ourselves usually come from our childhood. Recognize when these thoughts happen, and think about why this is a story you are telling yourself. Plus, Jeremy explains how to tell your family and friends about the ketogenic diet – especially those people who may not be completely supportive. He also describes the Stand Up 2 Sitting movement and how Jeremey is starting his nonprofit next month. Tune in!   Get Jeremy's FREE ebook: http://bit.ly/2Q2Xsmz   🎓 Become a member of The Keto Kamp Academy for exclusive access to these videos: www.ketokampacademy.com 🎓   [10:30] Jeremy Took a Chance on Himself Jeremy found himself so fascinated with all aspects of health. The last few years have been Jeremy putting in the time and effort to become more knowledgeable and meet more people. This is just the beginning for Jeremy.   [16:30] Navigating Self-Limiting Beliefs Mental health and mindset are kings. It is essential to step back and think about your childhood. Where did these self-limiting beliefs come from? We may not even be conscious of these thoughts we have been having. A typical example is your parents getting a divorce when you are nine years old. From that event, we start to tell ourselves so many different stories. We build perceptions, and we think they are the truth. People do not know they are capable of these great things. Build self-awareness as to why you are having these thoughts. Who are you spending your time with? If you are with people who are constantly complaining and bringing you down, that is what you are going to manifest.   [22:25] Getting Out of the Victim Role    Our struggles are part of our unique journeys. Adversity will manifest in our lives in some way. You will be able to connect on such a deep level with so many people. Find the silver lining – it’s all about perspective.   [24:30] Family Who is Unsupportive of Keto Give them the opportunity to understand. Tell them why you are trying the lifestyle and ask if they will support you on the journey. A lot of the time, they will still think you are crazy. Prioritize yourself – so many times we will put other people first. Fill your cup up first. If you feel terrible every day, how are you going to show up for other people? Small changes will profoundly manifest into bigger ones. Consistency is king. Jeremy doesn’t train that hard. He just lives a balanced life.   [30:30] Attitude and Enthusiasm   Jeremy has always had a childlike joy with a goofy sense of humor. There have been times where Jeremy has gone through struggles. He handled it by keeping them to himself. He credits his optimism to his dad, his biggest hero. His Dad always preached gratitude from a young age. He started giving Jeremy gratitude stones. If they ever came across a problematic situation – Jeremy’s dad would remind him of how lucky they are. Always treat people with respect and kindness. Sometimes, Jeremy does not do a good job at this. However, he still works on bringing good vibes to a room.   [40:00] Exercising on an Airplane Jeremy posted a video of him doing dips on the airplane and lunging down the aisle. Jeremy’s body was feeling stiff, and he needed to stretch. Some people hated his video – if he weren’t white, he would have been arrested. Street performers inspire Jeremy because they share their gifts with the world.   [43:45] Causes of Inactivity We spend eight or nine hours straight sitting. After work, we come home and relax. We could spend ten or twelve hours a day sitting. The seven areas of the world with the highest quality of life do not even workout. They are active throughout the day – they move every twenty minutes. Find alternative postures. Jeremy posts a lot of videos on this. Standup desks are trendy right now. They are not a great solution because if you are standing in a fixed position – it’s not that different than sitting all day. A ten-minute walk will do so much for you, especially outside. It can boost your creativity by up to sixty percent. Find someone to hold you accountable.   [50:40] Most Exciting Thing Jeremy is Working On Jeremy is launching a nonprofit next month. He is bringing fitness to urban areas – places where there might be poverty or crime. He wants to install bars to do pullups and do kid-like things. Jeremy wants to teach them simple things to move their bodies and have fun. He is starting in Miami then moving to South America. Jeremy is all about multiple impact streams. He wants to help the youth get strong and share some laughs.   AND MUCH MORE!   Resources from this episode: Visit Jeremy’s Website Connect with Jeremy Abramson: Twitter Instagram LinkedIn Email Jeremy: JA@E3LIFESTYLE.COM Call Jeremy: (650) 273-3672 Listen to Jeremy’s Podcast   🎓 Become a member of The Keto Kamp Academy for exclusive access to these videos: www.ketokampacademy.com 🎓   Free Keto Kickstart Guide: http://www.ketokickstartguide.com   This podcast is for information purposes only. Benefits of Saturated Fat, Best Time For Carbs, Dangers of Vegetable Oils With Brian Peskin : KKP 45

Benefits of Saturated Fat, Best Time For Carbs, Dangers of Vegetable Oils With Brian Peskin : KKP 45

Today, I am lucky to have here with me Prof. Brian Peskin, a world-leading scientist specializing in parent EFAs — termed PEOs — and their direct relationship to cardiovascular disease, cancer, and wound care (both traumatic and chronic).   Brian has always had one goal – to help people — regardless of personal sacrifice. But despite his integrity, Brian has suffered a lot of criticism and even slander as a reward for his hard work. Brian is not alone. Many other health researchers have also spoken the truth and were chastised for it.   Brian’s great genius is “connecting the dots” between established sciences that usually remain separated, and coupling his findings with real-life results. He combines theory with practicality in a very unique way. Even though Brian does not always take credit for the science he has studied – he is often only the messenger of the information already published in leading medical textbooks and medical journals — he has also been called a “quack.   Brian attended the world’s leading engineering institution, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he studied highly complex mathematics, engineering and physics, along with probability and statistics. He has also studied biochemistry and physiology. Brian’s various fields of study give him a unique systems perspective when applied to health and nutrition. Electrical engineering is an exact science.   In this episode, Brian and I talk about what inspired him to start scientifically looking at how foods affect our bodies. First, Brian reveals how his wife developed type 1 diabetes. Plus, Brian explains why we need to stop eating four to six times a day and the fact that we cannot physically overeat fat. He also describes the reasons why we should never consume fish oil. Tune in!   Join The Keto Kamp Academy! Special offer for the first 100 members. Science says one thing, and society is doing the opposite. Brian says more people need to be writing the science.   [12:50] You Never Build on the Past in Medicine   In medicine, you don’t look into the past – it doesn’t exist; it all starts today. Medicine is looking at studies, not science. Studies are open to misinterpretation. Ask your doctor what the metabolic pathway that causes your health issue is. Pathways are science. If your doctor doesn’t know the pathway, then don’t believe a word they say. Brian uses science to talk about food.   [17:30] Solving Type 1 Diabetes   Brian could not bring back a pancreas. Stop eating 4-6 times a day; we are not meant to be a goat. People who don’t know what they are talking about are putting others on an awful path. The diabetes epidemic has to stop.   [19:45] Stop Eating Every 2-3 Hours Brian has no idea why people think they need to eat every 2-3 hours. Carbs are sugars. You get just as much fat eating complex carbohydrates. The pancreas does not store insulin very well. If you eat six times a day, you blow your insulin reserve. The pancreas doesn’t know how to react to you eating so frequently. Eating every two to three hours came from the food industry. How much sugar is in your bloodstream? Less than a teaspoon. Brian double checked, and it still came back to one teaspoon. This is why exercise became a second job for some people, to burn off all the access sugar we are intaking.   [24:30] One Teaspoon of Sugar If you eat carbs, you’ll be using the sugar when you exercise. However, you would rather your body burn the fat (unless you are running a marathon). Most people quit their training program because it doesn’t work, and they are being told the wrong thing from their trainer.   [25:30] What Time to Cycle in Carbs Early morning is the best time to eat carbs. You don’t want to eat carbs at night because your blood sugar will stay high all night. For every ounce of carbohydrates you eat, you will need three ounces of water. If you eat the carbs at night, most likely, you are not doing that much activity. Make sure the carbs are good, get the bang for your buck. You can add carbs later in the day if you are going to stay active. If you eat carbs and you feel horrible, you’ve overeaten.   [32:20] Eating Too Many Carbs Your body wants it back to normal, so it needs to get the sugars out of the body. Exercise your body to get rid of the sugar, or burn it by starving. Brian says he doesn’t want to store it to begin with.   [34:00] Eating Fats and Protein to Excess Brian says you can’t overeat fat because your body physically won’t let you. Your appetite will eventually go away, and you will no longer want to eat anything else. To get no carbohydrates is virtually impossible. If you eat just fats and proteins, none of that protein is going to fat. 58% of a steak is water after it’s cooked. 70% of that steak is burned up in digestion. Most people don’t know this and have never seen it in writing.   [36:30] Eating Steak with Ketchup You’ve introduced carbohydrates when adding ketchup to steak. You can have some carbs; you don’t need zero. For instance, if you want to have a sandwich, have one slice of bread. Carbohydrates are very cheap and inexpensive. Fats, proteins, and cheeses are expensive.   [38:00] How to Gain Fat Faster Fat does nothing on its own. Minimizing carbs is always the answer. The average person can be just fine with minimum carbs. Do not have a high carb meal after a fast. The smartest thing you can do is a steak coming off of a fast. Do not eat anything with carbohydrates.   [42:00] Never Use Vegetable Oil or Fish Oil Smoke 2 packs a day for 28 years, how many people will develop lung cancer? 16% of people will develop lung cancer. If you give processed oil to people, most people will develop heart conditions. Fish oil goes rancid immediately. Dermatologists don’t have a clue why skin cancer rates aren’t going down. Sometimes, dermatologists will even prescribe fish oil to their patients to clear acne. Fish oil destroys your immune system. Brian doesn’t even know what to say. The most pristine fish oil in the world, in moderation, is still wrong. Fish oil doesn’t help anything; it fails at everything!   [52:40] Organic Supplements   Organic isn’t better because of more vitamins; it’s because they lack a negative. Many supplements will have carcinogens in them. If we take carcinogens over a long period of time, we will end up with severe health problems. You want more Omega-6 in your supplements.   [57:15] Diet is More Important Than Exercise You don’t want your appetite going through the roof. With carbohydrates, you can’t exercise enough. You don’t start burning fat right away. At the tail end of a workout is when we will start burning fat.     AND MUCH MORE!   Resources from this episode: Visit Brian’s Website Connect with Brian Peskin: Facebook Twitter LinkedIn YouTube PEO Solution 24-Hour Diet Hidden Story of Cancer   Join The Keto Kamp Academy!
