Today on the podcast we're talking about not being ready to change your relationship with alcohol and the reasons people have for not "feeling" ready.

There are three basic types of thoughts that people have for why they don't feel ready to change their drinking habits:

1) Procrastinator Thoughts: "I'll start on Monday"

2) Busy/Overwhelm Thoughts: "I'll start when life slows down"

3) Stuck in the Past Thoughts: "I can't start because I've never been successful before"

These thoughts are WHY you don't feel ready. The thoughts cause uncertainty, lack of motivation and in some cases they help us avoid pain and continue with the reward.

We need to think different thoughts so that we will feel differently and take better actions.
