Lv: Ziemas dienā Jūrmalā jūra šķita drūma un pelēka.
En: On a winter day in Jūrmala, the sea seemed gloomy and gray.

Lv: Debesis bija mākoņainas, un vējš runāja starp smilšu graudiem.
En: The sky was cloudy, and the wind whispered among the grains of sand.

Lv: Mārtiņš stāvēja pludmalē, rokās spīdēja viņa jaunā pūķis.
En: Mārtiņš stood on the beach, his new kite sparkling in his hands.
