Agave nectar is often marketed as a healthy sweetener, similar to honey, but it’s made up of 80–90% fructose. Fructose is processed only by the liver, where it can create stress and is handled similarly to alcohol. Research has shown that agave syrup can significantly raise triglyceride levels.


Agave syrup is highly processed, with the final product containing more calories than table sugar!


High-fructose foods like agave syrup and fruit juice can contain more fructose than soda. Excess fructose intake is linked to liver damage, metabolic dysfunction, and changes in brain genes.
