How to Support Someone’s Mental Health: Tips for Mental Health Awareness WeekIn today’s episode we’re marking Mental Health Awareness Week (11–17 May), which this year focuses on taking action for good mental health the practical steps we can take for ourselves, for others, and for society as a whole.We’re turning our attention to how we can support the people around us. From starting meaningful conversations when you’re worried about someone, to normalising regular mental health check-ins with loved ones, we explore simple but powerful ways to show up for others.We’re joined by Alexa Knight, Director of Policy and Influencing at the Mental Health Foundation. Alexa leads the Foundation’s media, campaigning, policy, and public affairs work across the UK, and brings deep expertise in shaping policy change and improving equity in mental health outcomes.The Mental Health Foundation, the organisation behind Mental Health Awareness Week, is the only UK charity dedicated solely to preventing poor mental health and promoting good mental health. Working across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, they research, develop, and campaign for better ways to support mental wellbeing nationwide.
