Lindsay Clancy’s Defense Says Prosecutors Never Offered WHAT?!

Kevin Reddington says Lindsay Clancy never received a plea offer before a jury was asked to decide whether she was criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children. Because the indictment charged first-degree murder, a conviction on those counts would mean mandatory life without parole.

The trial ended without a verdict on September 4, 2026. Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial after seven days of deliberations, leaving District Attorney Timothy Cruz’s office to decide what comes next. Reddington has said he would listen if prosecutors revisit the charges and propose a resolution, but no new deal has been announced.

That unanswered criminal question now sits beside two civil lawsuits aimed at the care Lindsay received before the deaths. Patrick Clancy’s wrongful-death suit names psychiatrist Jennifer Tufts, nurse practitioner Rebecca Jollotta, Aster Mental Health, and South Shore Health System. Lindsay Clancy’s malpractice suit includes those defendants and additional providers. The complaints allege her care was fragmented, her worsening condition was not handled adequately, and providers failed to coordinate treatment.

Patrick’s filing says eight different medications were prescribed over a three-week period. The defense used Clancy’s psychiatric history and treatment record to support its postpartum-psychosis argument, while prosecutors maintained that she remained able to understand the wrongfulness of her conduct and control her actions.
