Did Italy Convict the Wrong Men? The Monster of Florence Part 2 | Ep. 83 | Horror Whiskey Company

The Monster of Florence stopped killing in 1985—but the chaos surrounding the case was only beginning.

In Part 2, Jamie and Peter follow the investigation as Italian authorities turn their attention to Pietro Pacciani, Giancarlo Lotti and Mario Vanni—the alleged group infamously known as the “Snack Buddies.” What follows is a maze of questionable evidence, shifting confessions, overturned verdicts and accusations of a secret satanic cult purchasing body parts from the killer.

We also examine the mysterious death of Dr. Francesco Narducci, the arrests of journalist Mario Spezi and author Douglas Preston, the investigation’s surprising connection to the Amanda Knox case, and the more recent DNA evidence that could eventually rewrite everything.

Were the right men convicted? Was the killer working alone? Or did decades of pressure and police misconduct bury the truth forever?

Pour yourself an Italian Sidecar and join us as we attempt to untangle one of the most confusing true-crime investigations in history.

⚠️ This episode discusses murder, sexual violence and graphic criminal allegations. Listener discretion is advised.
