The Everyday Sniper Episode 247: Everyday Jeremy Going in a different direction with this podcast. A long time Sniper's Hide member Jeremy reached out to me and asked, would I entertain doing an episode with an Average Joe?  Of course, and Jeremy has a background in Law Enforcement, has been to training, and shoots competitively in his local area.  He is a listener of the podcast and member of the Hide Forum.   It's about context, it's about putting things in perspective and how we manage success.  I had never spoken to Jeremy prior, but we are able to speak the same language and put forth concepts in the Everyday Way.  So you might be sitting in your car listening to me, I hope you see both sides of the coin here.   I want to thank Jeremy for being forward-thinking and reaching out to me. The Everyday Sniper Episode 246 Robb Manning Robb Manning is the current Editor of Gun World magazine. Robb Manning grew up in a rural community in southern Wisconsin. Despite growing up in a non-hunting household, Robb gained an interest in hunting through school friends, his uncle, and his fervor for reading hunting magazines. Upon graduating High School, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps, where he served for over 10 years (1990-2000). During this time, he developed a passion and knowledge for firearms of all types. Upon getting out of the Marines Robb and his new wife moved back to Wisconsin, where Robb has lived his passion for the outdoors. Robb enjoys hiking, fishing, camping, and hunting. He also loves everything guns -- especially Military Surplus, Tactical Rifles, and Handguns. In 2010, Robb decided to put his lifelong love of guns to good use as a freelance gun/hunting writer, and has since written for AR Guns & Hunting magazine, Predator Xtreme, Gun Digest magazine, Modern Shooter as well as two reoccurring columns in the On Wisconsin Outdoors newspaper: Everyday Carry and New Product 6-Pack. He has written two books, “Glock Quick Reference Guide” and “Gun Digest Book of CZ,” and has also co-authored the “Shooter’s Bible Guide to AR-15s, 2nd Ed” with Doug Howlett. He also enjoys filming videos about guns and gear for his Youtube channel, @762x51n8o. The Everyday Sniper Episode 245: Frank Green of Bartlein Barrels An often-repeated question I was getting in the Podbean App has focused on Barrel contours.  I was gonna answer this question several times and get into the heat and weight discussion but decided to reach out to Bartlein Barrels and ask Frank Green to come on the podcast. I think this entry episode with Frank is a master class on discussing the various pro and cons of barrel features and options.  Frank breaks down the concepts in an easy to understand format.  We start out talking contours, that is the main focus of the conversation.  We get into twist rates, which brings us to Gain Twist barrels.  The experience over several years of Bartlein doing the Gain Twist for many different shooting disciplines.   I really appreciate Frank coming on, this is an excellent episode.  Have a great week, stay safe, protect yourself at all times, to include the family. We discuss the history and background behind this excellent optic.  Jeff comes from several Tier One scope companies and that experience has helped him to create the company Zero Compromise.  There are some really great nuggets of information this interview. The Everyday Sniper Episode 243: Rifle Set up as part of the Fundamentals & Gaming Not nearly the smoking and joking as some previous podcast episodes. We dig into a couple of topics as related to the fundamentals and then from a question off the Podbean App I was asking about gaming a stage or match.  In the first part, I read from a great Sniper's Hide Forum topic on features that help with accuracy. But change that topic into one of rifle setup.  Rifle setup is the key feature for this.  How we execute the fundamental and the Tom Cruise, No Mind Part of the equation.  Mindset is big with precision rifle shooting.  How the brain reacts and relays information is key to our success. So I talk about mindset when it comes to set up.  Lastly, we had a question about gaming. The Everyday Sniper Episode 240 Star Date 73680.7 Quarantine Day 4 StarDate 73680.7 Day 4 of the Corona Virus Quarantine and we'd aren't drunk enough yet. Being behind closed doors has allowed me to re-assess the processes I engage in when shooting or teaching.
