Blog posts are one of the most effective tools when it comes to content marketing. That being said, there are many different types of blog posts and not all of them are guaranteed to convert reader to customer.

1: original research posts

People go nuts for original research. They read it, share it, interact with it—it’s the content holy grail.

However, it’s hands down the most difficult and time consuming to produce. It’s a huge undertaking, but one of the most fruitful pieces of content you can produce today. Not only will you build up anticipationfrom the people who took part in research, but your posts will get cited, get oodles of backlinks, and likely show up in presentations years after the original research went live (even if it’s out of date).

2: checklist posts

Who doesn’t want to go through a piece of content that tells them exactly what to do and, if they follow it, they have a deliverable?

This instantly makes your content actionable for your audience and once they’ve taken one action and gotten over any level of doubt in your brand or self-doubt in themselves, they’ll take another action.

Posts like, “5 copywriting elements you should test”, “10-point blog post audit”, “15-point landing page checklist”, etc.… are all checklist style posts that generate a deliverable at the end.

3: pillar posts

A piece of pillar content is your thesis—it’s why you exist; it separates you from everyone else out there.

Pillar content is your evergreen content that becomes your backlink magnet and an amazing way to help you create derivative work for future posts.

These posts are normally huge and should be accompanied by a pdf download so people can read it later.

4: content aggregator posts

Who doesn’t have a folder full of email, ad, social, and landing page swipe files?

The fact is, we tend to emulate (even when we shouldn’t). It’s much harder to start with a blank page/canvas.

Swipe files that show examples of great instagram video ads with commentary are a great device to help inspire your audience and get those creative juices flowing.

Even better, this type of content is super shareable and will benefit from backlinks and social traffic.

Script: Brief Background on Affected Company: H&M has grown into one of the most recognizable brands in the fashion industry. As reported by Bloomberg, H&M has almost 4000 stores worldwide and has plans for 7000-8000 more stores in the future. And just like every big industry or business, digital marketing is becoming much more prevalent now than it ever was before. Digital Marketing, is used to push businesses' agenda’s towards their targeted audience through social media platforms, to try and influence followers and likes to reach the end goal of a future purchase. H&M Definitely has a strong online presence and following, which is why it’s so easy to influence consumers views as H&M Ad’s are constantly being pushed on every platform out there, which brings me to the main issue, in 2011 H&M had created a campaign where they promoted their bikini and swimsuit line called the “Perfect” Body which portrayed a face of a model computer generated onto a mannequin's body. Millions across the world became enraged, at the message H&M was pushing towards their audience, it was on every platform people of all ages that had access to social media had seen it, the message was quite clear to those that by using a mannequin instead of a models body just goes to say that even a models body isn’t perfect enough, which places audiences that have mental health issues, body positivity issues, and self-esteem issues as well, under more stress, it’s not easy in society today, especially with companies that push messages that try and push those people to conform to society's ideology of what's normal or expected. Digital Marketing is an amazing and necessary skill to take on, businesses wouldn't be half as successful they are today, without the utilization of digital marketing. However unethical Digital Marketing is becoming a big problem with exaggerated and tall claims and pushing negative advertisements shouldn’t be the way. Today I will talk about the tools you will need in the ever-changing digital world as a digital marketing agency, freelancer, or entrepreneur. To start, let’s talk about digital marketing and businesses. No matter what you do or where you are in life, you have to design, plan, and analyze your content. You may not think about this right now, but the work can pile up quickly. Quicker than you may believe. As a result, things can become stressful, and cause your business or company to suffer. It probably would be best to avoid that situation. There are many tools that can help you with many aspects of your business, but today I will talk about some of the best digital marketing tools you can use to help your business. The first tool is Google Analytics, and it tracks and reports on your web traffic. You can see where your website visitors are coming from, what device they are on when they are accessing your website, and much more. The second tool is Canva. Canva is a great graphic design tool that allows you to access templates for many things you might need like social media posts, blog banners, and photos for your website. There are many formats for your social media posts, like Instagram and Facebook. The possibilities are endless. Canva requires a paid subscription, but they do have free trials if you are unsure. The third tool is Hubspot. Hubspot is a marketing and sales automation platform. They provide you with the tools you will need to manage your marketing strategy and sales strategy. Besides marketing and sales, Hubspot includes CRM software and tools to help with your business. The 4th tool is Hootsuite. Hootsuite is one of the best tools to schedule posts and content for your social media. You can add multiple social media platforms to post to, and track the analytics of your content. Hootsuite does charge for a subscription, but they do offer a free trial to test out the program. The fifth and final tool is MailChimp. MailChimp is an email marketing automation platform designed to help you craft and schedule your emails. MailChimp is able to help with more than email marketing.
