Embrace Who You Are & Show Up | David Hawkins Ep. 82

Embrace Who You Are & Show Up | David Hawkins Ep. 82

"NEVER FORGET WHAT YOU ARE. THE REST OF THE WORLD WILL NOT. WEAR IT LIKE ARMOR, AND IT CAN NEVER BE USED TO HURT YOU."

Tyrion Lannister, Game Of Thrones

It's unreal to think of how nasty we can be to people at times. Sticks and Stones might break bones, but the words you say still matter.

Being young is hard. I think we forget sometimes.

Take yourself back for a moment and imagine you're in middle school or high school. Try to remember the social pressures. What was that anxiety like? Do you remember trying to find your crowd, find some friends, or just figure out where you fit? It's a tough time.

Thankfully, some of us grow out of that. Unfortunately, I'm willing to bet a lot of us think we've outgrown that but secretly, it still eats us up inside. Don't carry that weight anymore.

Imagine the freedom of shedding that baggage, embracing who you are and living your truth day in and day out. Admit it, that sounds amazing!

I truly admire people who are unapologetically themselves and continue to bless the world with their presence. To me, it's refreshing and inspiring. With that being said, it's no wonder I love and admire today's guest so much. David Hawkins, Founder of My PR Lab, is an example of what can happen when you embrace your truth and start living!

Born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, David would graduate from S.C. Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities before spending 13 years working in New York City & Los Angeles. He found fast success with a public relations career spanning industries including entertainment, fashion, health & beauty, lifestyle, and more.

In 2019 David founded what he and his team proudly proclaim as "the Upstate's most nontraditional PR firm", My PR Lab, in Downtown, Greenville. MY PR Lab is a full-service Public Relations and Event Management firm servicing a variety of industries.

Coming from humble beginnings, David has built himself into so much more than just a business owner. He has grown into a support system and resource for business as well as a dear friend to so many others. Believe me when I say, David's positive and supportive influence will linger in the room long after he is gone.

In today's episode, join me as we explore his story. Take a listen as we explore the importance of transparency, the benefits of embracing who we are, always showing up, and why you should work in the food industry at some point in your life. I truly hope Davids story inspires you to embrace who you are, learn to love yourself, and share your gifts with the world.

David is, and we're all lucky to enjoy the man he is today.
