Flashbacks and Dissociation: How to Stay Grounded

Flashbacks and Dissociation: How to Stay Grounded

In this week’s Friday Healing episode, we’re diving into the challenging experiences of flashbacks and dissociation – two of the most disorienting symptoms of CPTSD. I’ll guide you through understanding why these responses happen, what’s going on in your brain and body, and, most importantly, how to gently bring yourself back to the present.

We’ll explore practical grounding techniques like sensory exercises, breathwork, and visualization – simple tools you can use to stay anchored when flashbacks or dissociation strike. Plus, we’ll talk about how to create a grounding routine and build long-term resilience to reduce the frequency and intensity of these episodes over time.

If you’ve ever felt powerless in the face of overwhelming memories or the sense of detachment that comes with dissociation, this episode is for you. You are not alone, and healing is possible – one grounding breath at a time.

Join me as we make sense of this together.

Next week, we’ll dive into building external support systems and finding community on the healing journey.
