013: Getting Back Into Alignment with Rachel Walt

Today’s episode is all about alignment. Regardless of your relationship with the word “alignment,” it’s all about having clarity on who you are, what you want, and what actions you want to take next. Our guest, Rachel Walt, is an alignment expert. After a struggle with postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety, she started a self-exploration journey that led her to figure out what alignment means to her. If you’re feeling stuck, unsure, or out of touch with yourself, this is the episode for you!

Rachel is the essence of positivity, creativity & authenticity. She is a wife, mom of 3 young kids & the founder of Craftingood. She has a background in holistic health coaching, community organizing, and Speech-Language Pathology. Currently, She's on a mission to empower families, to use creativity and self-compassion as their most powerful tool for raising kind humans, have fun, and change the world! You can find her on Instagram @rachelhwalt. Craftingood is one word with a shared "G". www.craftingood.com on Instagram @wearecraftingood and on Facebook, YouTube, and Pinterest @craftingood.

Some key takeaways from this episode are:

  • Paying too much attention to external voices (social media, blogs, family opinions, etc.) can keep you from being truly aligned with yourself.
  • Sometimes we have to give ourselves permission to find ourselves again. Continually ask yourself “who the heck am I?” to stay aligned with your core values.
  • Do you have one person who is far enough from your situation, but still knows you well enough to provide some insight? Examples might be your best friend, a therapist, a coach, or a parent. We need trusted relationships to guide us back to alignment sometimes.
  • “Busy” is a numbing technique. Leave space in your schedule to give yourself time to get back in alignment with yourself.

Welcome to the Wake Up Call Podcast with Alicia Hopkins (that’s me!). I work in corporate sales by day and am a personal development guru and Life Coach by night. My goal in this podcast is to share valuable and actionable tips on what I call the “Core Four” - mindfulness, movement, habits, and growth - so you can build a life that feels true to you. I will be interviewing people who have had a “wake up call” that their good-on-paper life wasn’t lighting them up, and what they did to change that. Join us every week for a new episode of the Wake Up Call Podcast with Alicia Hopkins!
