025: Exploring Intuitive Energy Healing with Dana Childs - Pt. 1

You’ve probably heard the terms “energy,” “chakras,” and “vibrations” get thrown around a lot lately. If you don’t consider yourself a “woo woo” person, these words might not make a lot of sense in the context of happiness and fulfillment. But in today’s episode, Dana Childs, an Intuitive Energy Healer, is sharing all things energy so we can get a better understanding of how energy impacts our emotions and overall health.

Dana Childs is an intuitive energy healer, author, and teacher. She delivers grounded spirituality with heart, humor, and unabashed truth through her talks and healing sessions delivered to the executive, individual, or couple. She leads workshops, online courses, and retreats to help others learn to access their truest selves and open their intuitive gifts. She is a favorite of Gwenyth Paltrow’s company Goop and is partnered with Four Seasons Oahu in Hawaii for exclusive guided meditations and in person retreats. Her book, co-authored with Cyndi Dale, titled Chakras, Food, & You will be released August of 2021. When not helping others on their search for personal and professional fulfillment, she can be found writing articles, researching mold, or playing and hiking with her dog, Sufi, in North Carolina. Some key takeaways on energy are:

  • Energy is intangible. It’s something we can intuitively feel, but that we can’t always explain. When you walk into a room and can tell there’s tension even though no one has said or done anything, that’s energy.
  • Self-awareness is a huge component of energy healing. Make sure you’re spending time alone with yourself to recognize and understand your feelings. If you can understand your own emotions, you can identify when you're picking up someone else’s energy and release that energy accordingly.
  • There are no such things as bad emotions. All of our emotions - including sadness, anger, and grief - give us information about what we want to leave behind and what we want more of in our lives.

Welcome to the Wake Up Call Podcast with Alicia Hopkins (that’s me!). I work in corporate sales by day and am a personal development guru and Life Coach by night. My goal in this podcast is to share valuable and actionable tips on what I call the “Core Four” - mindfulness, movement, habits, and growth - so you can build a life that feels true to you. I will be interviewing people who have had a “wake up call” that their good-on-paper life wasn’t lighting them up, and what they did to change that. Join us every week for a new episode of the Wake Up Call Podcast with Alicia Hopkins!
