We're Back B*tches #1: What is going on with Kona qualification?!

We’re back!

LIVE from the iconic Canoe Club in Kona, we’re here all week to bring you the vibes and the interviews from the Big Island as the waves roll in and the sun sets on what may be the final all-women’s Ironman World Championship.

To start, we're going deep into why is it the last all-women's race? (For now!) Why were there only 1,500 spots for women's Kona v. 2,300 for men's Nice? (Seriously, WHY?!) And how did we get here?

And, then, it's the question everyone's been asking: What is going on with the complicated new Ironman World Championship qualification process for next year....

Then, it's time to turn our attention to the actual race happening. And check in with three of the amazing pro women toeing the line this Saturday:

  • Tamara Jewett – What is with everyone and the shark info?!
  • Jackie Hering – One of the oldest pros in the race — and also the American Ironman record holder from just last year!
  • Solveig Løvseth – And one of the youngest, making her debut and bringing the Norwegian Method to the women's race.

The vibes are chill (for now), but the energy is building. Stay tuned all week for more voices and stories from the Big Island.
