Bonus Ep: Elisabeth Easther, our Midlifer of the Month

This month’s bonus episode is a very special one as we welcome our Midlifer of the Month, Elisabeth Easther - writer, actor, voice artist and all-round creative force. From the jump, the conversation flows through creativity, midlife reinvention, and the reality of staying the course in creative industries where rejection is part of the deal.

Elisabeth takes us behind the scenes of her novel Seed - from its beginnings as a story driven by lived experience, to becoming a play, and then returning to life as a book after years of persistence, rewrites, near-misses, and what she beautifully describes as a “very long birth.” We talk honestly about ambition, disappointment, hope, and why giving up is the one guaranteed way things won’t happen.

Along the way, we cover everything from acting life (including Shortland Street, voiceover work and unexpected career doors opening and closing), to creativity requiring tension, the importance of friendship, embracing imperfection, environmental values, and bridging the Aussie–Kiwi divide.
