The Big Bad Broadcast EP 229 -- Larry Amoros

In this episode of the Big Bad Broadcast, we dive into a lively and humorous conversation with our guest, Larry Amoroso, a talented writer and comedian known for his work with Joan Rivers and Barry Manilow. We kick things off with some playful banter about the podcast itself, with John and Mike joking about the absurdity of modern television and the strange phenomenon of Sudden Unexpected Nocturnal Death Syndrome (S.U.N.D.S.) that has been haunting some Southeast Asian men.

As we transition into our guest segment, Larry shares his experiences in the comedy world, reminiscing about the vibrant New York comedy scene of the late '80s, where he rubbed shoulders with legends like Jerry Seinfeld, Robin Williams, and George Carlin. He recounts his early days of performing at iconic venues and the hard work it took to make a name for himself in a supportive yet competitive environment.

The conversation takes a turn as we discuss the current state of comedy and how social media has changed the landscape for aspiring comedians. Larry reflects on the challenges of developing talent in today's fast-paced world, contrasting it with the nurturing atmosphere of the past.

We also touch on the absurdities of politics and media, with Larry sharing his insights on the current political climate and the influence of networks like Fox News. The episode is filled with laughter, sharp observations, and a healthy dose of nostalgia for the golden days of stand-up comedy.
