The Body Scan Pause: Your Secret Weapon for Midweek Calm

The Body Scan Pause: Your Secret Weapon for Midweek Calm

Hello there, and welcome to Relaxation. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. You know, it's early Wednesday morning, and I'm guessing your mind might already be spinning with everything on your plate this week. Am I close? That's exactly why we're here together right now. Let's just... pause. And breathe. Go ahead and get yourself comfortable, wherever you are. You don't need to sit in any fancy position. Just somewhere your body feels supported. Maybe that's a chair, a couch, or even lying down. There's no wrong way to do this. Once you're settled, gently close your eyes if that feels right, or just soften your gaze down. We're going to spend the next few minutes together, and the only job you have is to be here. Now, let's ground ourselves with three intentional breaths. Breathe in through your nose for a count of four, hold it for four, and exhale through your mouth for four. Again. In for four, hold, and out. One more time, nice and slow. You're already doing beautifully. Here's what I want to offer you today. It's something I call the Body Scan Pause, and it's my secret weapon for melting tension without needing an hour of quiet time. We're going to travel through your body like a gentle wave, noticing where you're holding stress and consciously releasing it. Starting at the crown of your head, imagine a soft, warm light moving down. Notice any tightness around your forehead or jaw. Is there tension? Just observe it without judgment. Imagine that light smoothing it away like warm water. Now that glow moves to your shoulders, that place where we all carry our worries. Notice if they're creeping up toward your ears. Acknowledge them. Then, on your next exhale, let them drop down your back like sand falling through your fingers. The light continues down your chest and belly. This is where anxiety loves to hide. Breathe into any tightness you feel there, and on the exhale, let your belly soften like it's sinking into a cloud. Moving down through your hips, your legs, all the way to your feet. Feel them grounded, heavy, supported by the earth beneath you. Take one more full breath here, acknowledging that you just gave yourself permission to relax, even for just these few minutes. As you move into the rest of your day, carry this sensation with you. Whenever you feel the tension creeping back in, pause and do a quick shoulder drop. That tiny gesture reminds your whole nervous system that relaxation is always just a breath away. Thank you so much for spending this time with me. If this resonated with you, please subscribe to Relaxation and join me again soon. You deserve this peace. For great deals today, check out https://amzn.to/47ZqpWT
