Waiting on God Without Losing Your Mental Health

Waiting on God Without Losing Your Mental Health

What do you do when you have prayed, prepared, trusted, andwaited—but nothing seems to be changing?

In Season 2, Episode 24 of the Well Life WednesdayPodcast, hosts Cristy Hooper, LCMHCS, and Iris Hooper, LCAS-A,discuss the emotional and mental impact of waiting on God.

Waiting can bring anxiety, sadness, frustration, disappointment, comparison, and spiritual doubt. Experiencing these emotionsdoes not mean that you have lost your faith. It means that you are human.

In this episode, Cristy and Iris discuss:

• How waiting can affect your mental and emotional health
• The difference between actively waiting and remaining stuck
• How comparison makes waiting more difficult
• Why faith and professional mental health support can work together
• Practical ways to protect your peace while waiting
• How to separate facts from fear-based thoughts
• The importance of boundaries, structure, support, and healthy coping skills
• How to continue living while trusting God with the outcome

You can trust God while being honest about your emotions. You can pray and attend therapy. You can have faith and still ask for help. Youdo not have to abandon yourself while waiting for your circumstances to change.

Reflection Question:
What is one thing you can do to protect your mental health while you wait?
