Caleb Flynn Trial Day 3: Kayla Keyt Told Him He Could Make WHAT?

Kayla Keyt, sister of murder victim Ashley Flynn, testified about Caleb Flynn’s place inside the family business—and the financial future she said had been discussed with him before Ashley’s death.

Keyt testified that Caleb earned about $200,000 a year as a salesman for her family’s company, where her husband, Matthew Keyt, also worked in sales. She said her father planned to retire and eventually split the business between Kayla and Ashley. According to Kayla, she shared the company’s projections with Caleb and told him the potential annual income could reach $300,000 to $400,000.

Kayla also described being with Caleb when he told his daughters their mother had died. She recounted the version Caleb gave her of what happened that night. Later that week, she testified, Caleb told her he believed investigators were going to blame him and worried his daughters could lose both parents.

On cross-examination, Kayla said remaining with the family company would have been financially beneficial for Caleb. She also testified that she knew Alleigha Botner from the church worship team but knew nothing about Caleb’s alleged affair with her until police interviewed Kayla. She said she initially did not believe it.

Matthew Keyt also testified about his friendship with Caleb and their work together in the family business.

Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to charges including aggravated murder in Ashley Flynn’s death. Prosecutors allege the scene was staged to resemble a home invasion; the defense says investigators wrongly focused on Caleb.
