Trial Of Caleb Flynn Day 6: Kinzig Reveals WHO Tracked Botner Online?!

Andrea Kinzig's digital-forensics testimony in the Caleb Flynn trial introduced a different kind of surveillance evidence. Kinzig testified that Ashley Flynn's sister, Kayla Heyt, abused a service to monitor Alleigha Botner's Instagram account.

The special agent also described several snoop reports Caleb Flynn ran on Botner's accounts and testified about emails between Flynn and Botner. After days of jurors hearing about the affair through messages and witness testimony, Kinzig's evidence focused on the electronic activity surrounding those relationships.

Flynn has pleaded not guilty in the killing of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Prosecutors allege he killed Ashley and staged the scene as a home invasion. The defense says an intruder killed Ashley and investigators focused on Caleb too quickly.

Kinzig's testimony gives jurors more digital artifacts to evaluate, but the significance of those records remains something the attorneys must establish. Monitoring an account, running a report and exchanging an email can show activity. The fight in court is over what that activity means in the murder case.
