"Whole School.... Complete Silence" - Ciara Jack | S02 E03 | The Sin Bin Pod

This week Ciara Jack joins The SinBin Pod with a story about childhood confidence, questionable musical ambition and the danger of being told to “just be yourself” at a school talent show.Growing up obsessed with Titanic, Irish traditional music and performing, Ciara heads into secondary school determined to make friends and prove she has something to offer.

Unfortunately, while some of her classmates are trained singers and dancers, Ciara decides to showcase a very different kind of talent — and convinces one reluctant friend to join her. What follows is a school performance she still occasionally gets flashbacks about, a painfully quiet audience, and the slow realisation that perhaps this particular creative choice had been badly misjudged.

Expect:

✔ Ciara Jack on being an extremely committed Titanic fan

✔ Pretending to be horses in the playground

✔ Recorder club, Irish trad music and some questionable musical confidence

✔ Convincing a reluctant friend to join her school talent show act

✔ The moment Ciara realises the performance may not be going to plan

✔ A bonus revelation involving a childhood rap group based around household pets

✔ Cox in the Corner: Ciara faces a question about her American and Irish roots

✔ Sinner or Winner: office oat milk revenge vs a disastrous night-out escape
