The Big Event

Does the thought of a sober Near Year’s Eve fill you with dread? Can you imagine attending a festival with nothing to lean on except a can of fizzy water? And how on earth do sober people survive Mardi Gras without downing a few shots of Tequila before heading to the club?

Going to big events ‘totally-tea-total’ can certainly change the vibe. It’s overwhelming watching everyone around you get wide-eyed and wasted while you tap your foot and plaster a fake sober smile across your face. If you are newly sober those first shindigs can be anxiety inducing and overwhelming…. But the good news is, the longer you are sober and the more you go, the easier big events will become.

So, before you go weak at the knees and find yourself queued up at the bar with the rest of the shitfaced revellers, listen as Vic and Hamish attempt to stop you in your tracks, get you prepped and make sure if you do go out you do it in style, with a positive attitude, and a belt full of sober tools to get you past that grumpy bouncer.
