83: 4 Steps to Cultivating a Business Fueled by Creativity and Authenticity

83: 4 Steps to Cultivating a Business Fueled by Creativity and Authenticity

Welcome back, Dirty Dogs! Jess and Meg here, and if you've been feeling that creative spark fizzling under the weight of your to-do list, this episode is just for you. We are diving deep into what it really takes to get your creative juices flowing in business and why making time for this is key to creating a brand that’s truly you.

Here’s the tea:

  • Making Mental Space for New Ideas We’re chatting about the importance of downtime and letting go of that “must-be-productive-24/7” mentality. It’s wild, but the best ideas often pop up during those in-between moments – like a beach walk, your daily workout, or even those good ol' shower thoughts. Trust us, a clear mind is fertile ground for creative thinking!

  • Scheduled Time for Creativity Getting creative doesn’t happen by accident. We share how we structure our schedules to prioritize “working on” rather than “in” our businesses. Thursdays are sacred for Meg—dedicated time to focus on growth, map out future goals, and nurture ideas that align with her purpose. And don’t be afraid to shake things up! Maybe take yourself out of your usual environment or grab a friend for a “creativity retreat” off the grid.

  • Authenticity in Innovation The only way to stay ahead is by keeping your ideas real and true to yourself. We’re talking all about building out our own paths rather than copying what others in the industry are doing. For us, it’s all about understanding our brand values and creating programs or products that reflect who we are and who we want to help. When your work is authentic, it lands better every time.

  • Building Self-Worth to Back Your Unique Ideas Every creative journey has bumps in the road. We’re here to tell you that not every idea will be a hit, and that’s okay! Your confidence grows as you learn and try new things. When you start building self-worth outside of your business through personal growth, it naturally flows into everything you create. Plus, it’s crucial to have people around you who believe in your vision and push you to keep going when things get tough.

We wrap up with some tips on how to stay grounded in your creativity, how to fuel your ideas with self-belief, and a call to all of you: share with us your own unique ideas that paid off or taught you something along the way.

Love you, mean it!

Jess & Meg
