130: Switch to the Bright Side

It’s no secret that living with bipolar disorder is no easy feat. It can take over your life and cause chaos in ways you can’t imagine. The ambiguity of the disorder, along with the long and difficult road to healing can be one of the toughest battles a person can fight. Not only for the individual, but the family surrounding them as well.

Yes, it’s tough, but healing IS possible, not only healing, but a beautiful thriving life. However, it takes a village, but the point is it’s possible, something we forget when speaking of bipolar disorder, and any mental illness for that matter. So, what if we flipped the script on how we talk about bipolar disorder? What if we spoke about it, not as a life sentence, but something that can be overcome with more empowering language. Can there be a bright side to bipolar disorder?

Our guest on today’s episode is trying to do just that! Michel Le Roux has been living with bipolar disorder for 40 years and has stabilized it for 22 years. His life’s work is now to help others living with bipolar disorder and create a new narrative around it. He tells us his story of how he realized he had bipolar disorder and the journey to healing. Dropping out of school, losing his job and family, only to gain it back with a brand new perspective and a purpose to help others.

Michel’s story is empowering and may help you or someone you know living with bipolar disorder and any mental illness.

Tune in to hear a story of triumph and finding humanity in healing!
