Stress Melt: How to Release What You're Holding This Friday Morning

Stress Melt: How to Release What You're Holding This Friday Morning

Hey there, friend. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. You know, it's Friday morning, and if you're anything like me, you might be feeling that particular kind of tired that comes from carrying the week on your shoulders. So take a seat, get comfortable, and let's do what we do best here on Stress Relief—we're going to unwind together. Before we dive in, I want you to notice something. Right now, in this exact moment, you're choosing to pause. That's huge. That's already the hardest part done. So let's build on that. Go ahead and settle into wherever you're sitting or lying down. Feel the support beneath you. That chair, that couch, that floor—it's got you. And now, let's bring attention to your breath. Not to change it, just to notice it. In through your nose, out through your mouth. Nice and easy. Feel your shoulders drop just a little bit as you exhale. One more breath like that. Beautiful. Now I'm going to walk you through something I call the Stress Melt. This is my favorite way to physically release what the day has been clinging to. Close your eyes if that feels right for you. Imagine your stress as something tangible, like a knot of ice slowly melting under warm sun. We're going to melt it from the top down. Start by bringing all your attention to the crown of your head. Breathe into that space. As you exhale, imagine any tension there just softening, liquefying. Feel it drip down past your eyes, your jaw, melting away. Move that warm attention down to your neck and shoulders. These are stress storage units, aren't they? We hold everything here. Breathe into the tightness. On the exhale, let it become liquid and flow down your arms. Feel it traveling all the way to your fingertips and dripping away. Now your chest and belly. Breathe big here. Let your ribs expand like an umbrella opening. Any stress melts right through your heart space, warming as it goes, and moves down through your belly, your hips, your legs. Finally, your feet. Root yourself. Feel any last bit of that ice melt and seep into the earth beneath you. You're lighter now. Cleaner. Take three more conscious breaths here, just being with yourself. As you move through the rest of your day, come back to this feeling. When stress creeps back in, just remember that melting sensation. A simple exhale can bring you back home. Thank you so much for joining me on Stress Relief today. Please subscribe so we can do this together again soon. You've got this. For great deals today, check out https://amzn.to/47ZqpWT
