527: How to Set Boundaries with Dr. Sasha Shillcutt

Overwork and overwhelm are huge problems in today's society, yet they are highly revered in many cultures. From the story of Elon Musk sleeping in the Tesla factory, to the parents so committed to their children they haven't had a night out in three years. We shake our heads in dismay when we hear them, but smile in admiration at the same time. Why? Because finding balance is an issue many of us struggle with.

On this week's podcast, we meet a medical doctor and mother of four who found herself consumed by burnout, overwhelm, disappointment, and isolation. She made a huge change in her own life and now writes, speaks, and coaches women to set boundaries and find balance in theirs.

Listen and learn:

  • How your personality and who you are, is often largely determined by age 14
  • Why medical doctors have the highest suicide rate of any profession
  • How to avoid falling into the trap of martyrdom
  • Masculine vs. feminine boundaries and the best recharge strategies
