In Your Heart - A dedication to the Father-Daughter bond by Thomas S Carver | Simerjeet Singh
"A daughter may outgrow your lap, but she will never outgrow your heart." ~ Unknown Our next poem in the Poetry That Inspires series is titled “In Your Heart” and written by Thomas S Carver. This emotional poem is a touching depiction of the evolving relationship between a father and daughter. It reminds us of the unconditional love that a father has for his daughter, and no matter how things turn out, the bond will always stay the same. This poem is dedicated to doting fathers and loving daughters worldwide. Regards, TeamSJS In Your Heart He was so proud of his little girl. It was her very first day of school. He walked with her to school that day, And she held his hand all the way. They walked together quiet and sad, A little girl and her loving dad. Into the school her father led, But he almost cried when she said, "Daddy, Daddy, please don't go. Don't leave me here all alone. I'll miss you if you go away, And I might need you; can't you stay?" "Little Daughter, please don't cry. You'll be okay, so dry your eyes. You have our memories in your heart. We're together though we're apart." He sat up front on her wedding day And cried as his daughter walked away. Later that night he watched her dance. He sat there waiting for his chance. The band started to play their song. Father and daughter danced along. She looked at him and saw a tear Then leaned and whispered in his ear, "Daddy, Daddy, I have to go. I hate to leave you all alone. I'll miss you when I go away, But if you need me then I'll stay." "Little Daughter, I'll be just fine. I'll love you always; you are mine. I have our memories in my heart. We're together though we're apart." She came in his room and kissed his head Then sat next to his hospital bed. He took her hand and held it tight And wished he had the strength to fight. They sat together, quiet and sad, A daughter and her dying dad. He saw the tears she tried to hide. She looked at him and then she cried. "Daddy, Daddy, please don't go. Don't leave me here all alone. I'll miss you when you go away. I still need you; you have to stay." "Little Daughter, I love you so. I want to stay but have to go. I'll always be here in your heart. We're together though we're apart." ~ Thomas S Carver Watch it on YouTube: https://youtu.be/6tiuvHhDipY #PoetryThatInspires #InYourHeart #SimerjeetSingh #InspirationalPoem #ThomasSCarver #PoemOfTheDay #InspirationalPoetry Follow us on: https://linktr.ee/SimerjeetSingh

Be a Friend - Inspirational Poem by Edgar Albert Guest | Read by Simerjeet Singh
Our next piece of poetry in the Poetry That Inspires series is dedicated to the spirit of friendship. It’s titled "Be A Friend" by Edgar Albert Guest. Guest reminds us that it doesn’t cost much to be compassionate, kind, and helpful to others. That we all need friends in our lives and to be there for them, no matter what. We hope you also have a bunch of special people in your life that you call friends. People who can lift you up when life knocks you down. Make sure to let them know how important they are to you by mentioning them in the comments section below. Have a great day ahead. Regards, TeamSJS Be a Friend by Edgar Albert Guest Be a friend. You don't need money: Just a disposition sunny; Just the wish to help another Get along some way or other; Just a kindly hand extended Out to one who's unbefriended; Just the will to give or lend, This will make you someone's friend. Be a friend. You don't need glory. Friendship is a simple story. Pass by trifling errors blindly, Gaze on honest effort kindly, Cheer the youth who's bravely trying, Pity him who's sadly sighing; Just a little labor spend On the duties of a friend. Be a friend. The pay is bigger (Though not written by a figure) Than is earned by people clever In what's merely self-endeavor. You'll have friends instead of neighbors For the profits of your labors; You'll be richer in the end Than a prince, if you're a friend. How Young People can Transform their Lives? | An Ancient Story on Self Reliance by Simerjeet Singh
I was a 1st-year student at AIHM Chandigarh when I earned my first 300 rupees for working at an ODC (Outdoor Catering). Then later, while studying at The Hotel School Sydney I took up several part-time jobs (ranging from washing cars to selling insurance) to support myself. I didn’t need to put myself through this extra effort. But I wanted to. I chose to. For self-reliance is a wonderful thing. And these experiences have enriched my life and helped me develop a strong work ethic. I hope this episode will inspire youngsters across the world to take charge of their lives and learn the value of self-discipline and self-reliance. Presenting to you our next episode in the Stories That Move Series. Enjoy, learn and share! I Still Matter - An Inspirational Poem by Patricia A. Fleming | Read by Simerjeet Singh
A personal appeal to all young people across the world – Please treat the elderly and the infirm with respect and dignity because they still matter. And because someday, we all will also go through this phase of life and crave affection and respect from those around us. Patricia Fleming’s “I Still Matter” highlights the importance of embracing and honouring your inner beauty and living with pride and dignity. This poem is a reminder that you are never too old to make a difference and that you still matter regardless of your looks and age. Read by Simerjeet Singh Make someone’s day. Help a Senior Citizen today Regards, TeamSJS I'M STILL HERE My looks are nothing special, My face reveals my age, My body shows some wear and tear, And my energy's not the same. Too often my memory fails me, And I lose things all the time. One minute I know what I plan to do, And the next it may just slip my mind. I try hard to avoid my mirror. There are things I would rather not see, And even those times when I just catch a glimpse, I can no longer recognize me. The things I used to do with ease Can now cause aches and pains, And the quality of the things I do Will never be quite the same. I always compare my older self To those younger versions of me, And I know I'm wasting too much time Missing who I used to be. But the thing that really makes me sad Is despite what people see, Underneath my tattered, worn out shell, I'm still the same old me. My heart can still feel endless love, And at times it still can ache. My heart can fill with so much joy, And then it can suddenly break. My soul can still feel sympathy And longs for forgiveness and peace, And there are times its light shines boldly through, And times when it longs for release. It's true, maybe now that I'm older, Feeling lonely may be status quo, But it also has made me more willing To forgive and let past conflicts go. So maybe to some I look ugly and old, A person who barely exists. I'm still quite aware of the beauty inside, And my value should not be dismissed. So although not as strong and no beauty, it's true, I'm still here and want so much to live, And I know that there's no one in this world quite like me, And no one who has more to give.
