Josh Duggar: Family Values Spokesman, Ashley Madison Customer, Federal Inmate

Josh Duggar: Family Values Spokesman, Ashley Madison Customer, Federal Inmate

He went to Washington to lobby Congress on behalf of conservative Christian family values. He held a leadership role at the Family Research Council's political action committee. He shook hands. He gave speeches. He was the face of something.

At his federal trial, an investigating agent testified that what was discovered on Josh Duggar's work computer included images of children as young as eighteen months old — and ranked among the worst material that agent had encountered in his entire career.

Part 4 of Hidden Killers' five-part Duggar series traces the full arc of Josh Duggar's adult life: the 2008 TLC wedding, the lobbying career, a 2015 civil lawsuit alleging serious misconduct that was settled before any court adjudication, and the Ashley Madison data breach that revealed he'd had a paid account on a site built specifically for facilitating affairs.

After Ashley Madison, Josh released a public statement. He admitted to infidelity. He called himself the biggest hypocrite ever. He cited a pornography addiction. He said all of that years before anyone knew what was sitting on his work computer.

While Josh waited for his federal trial, Jim Bob announced a run for the Arkansas State Senate. His platform was pro-family. He ran. He finished third.

December 2021: the jury came back guilty. May 2022: twelve years and seven months. His initial appeal was denied. He is currently incarcerated in Texas.

Part 4 of 5.
