Softening Into Thursday: Your Golden Hour Reset

Softening Into Thursday: Your Golden Hour Reset

Hi there, and welcome back. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. You know, it's early Thursday morning as we're doing this together, and if you're anything like me, your nervous system might be gently humming with that low-level anticipation of the day ahead. Maybe you've already checked your phone three times, or you're thinking about meetings, or just the general momentum of life. Whatever brought you here, I want you to know that what you're doing right now, pausing to be present, is already an act of profound self-care. Let's settle in together. Find yourself in a comfortable position, whether that's sitting, lying down, or somewhere in between. There's no perfect posture here, just honest comfort. As you arrive in this space, notice what you're sitting or lying on. Feel the support beneath you, that quiet structure that's holding you up without asking anything in return. That's what relaxation feels like when we really tune into it. Now let's begin with something I call the softening breath. Breathe in slowly through your nose for a count of four, and as you do, imagine you're breathing in something warm, something that feels like home to you. Maybe it's the scent of fresh coffee, or ocean air, or pine trees. Whatever feels good to you. Then exhale through your mouth for a count of six, and as you breathe out, let your shoulders drop. Let your jaw unclench. Let yourself become a little bit heavier, a little bit softer. Again, in for four, and out for six. Beautiful. Here's where we go deeper. I want you to do a body scan, but with a twist. Instead of tensing and releasing, we're going to imagine melting. Starting at the crown of your head, picture a warm, golden light, almost like honey beginning to melt. It softens your forehead, smooths out any lines of worry. It melts down through your eyes, your cheeks, your jaw. Feel that tension literally liquifying and dripping away. Move that honey slowly down your neck, across your shoulders where we hold so much, down through your arms and fingers. The heat moves through your chest, melting around your heart. Down through your belly, your hips, your legs. All the way to your toes, which are now completely warm and heavy and relaxed. As we close, I want you to carry this feeling with you. When you step into your day, take just three of those softening breaths whenever you feel tension creeping back. That's your reset button, right there in your body. Thank you so much for joining me on Relaxation today. Please subscribe so we can practice together again soon. You're doing better than you think.
