DISCUSSION: Is porn turning teenage boys aggressive?

DISCUSSION: Is porn turning teenage boys aggressive?

Alcohol, cigarettes and films have age restrictions on them, but when it comes to pornography, everything changes.

We’ve now got 13-year old boys watching hours of extreme content, like girls being gagged so forcefully during oral that they can hardly breathe. And all of this before these boys have even kissed a girl in real life.

How is this changing their brains?

I’ve reviewed an article from The Guardian newspaper that tells of a rise in teenage sex offences where immoral, abusive and non-consensual behaviour is happening and the boys are putting it down to, ‘well, they do it in porn videos, so what’s the problem?’.

INTERVIEW: Is paedophilia in the brain from birth?

INTERVIEW: Is paedophilia in the brain from birth?

I’ve interviewed Dr. James Cantor, an internationally recognised sex researcher, neuroscientist and psychologist. He discussed his findings with paedophilia (when someone’s arousal comes from children) and how we stand the best chance, as a society, of ensuring the crime never happens in the first place. And before anyone says ‘just kill em’, I’m not talking about our options AFTER the crime’s been committed, I’m talking about BEFORE. Can we reach that person when they’re a teenager, or even as soon as they start thinking about hurting a child for the first time. And if you’re still saying ‘just kill em’, what are you actually suggesting here? That we go round holding a gun to everyone’s head asking if they think about children? The man that had my 8-year old penis in his mouth did this for the first time to somebody. Where was everyone before he got to that person? All shouting ‘kill em’ - that did absolutely NOTHING to help me, or any of his other victims. Take a listen to this podcast episode. You don’t have to agree with it. But as long as we can explore all avenues we can at least start moving towards protecting the children of today.Dr. James Cantor info.Website - http://www.jamescantor.orgTwitter - https://twitter.com/JamesCantorPhDBio - Dr. James Cantor is an internationally recognized sex researcher. As a psychologist and neuroscientist, Dr. Cantor is known for his research on the development of atypical sexualities, including the causes of sexual orientation, gender identity, and diagnoses motivating sexual offenses. Over his career, Dr. Cantor has served as Senior Scientist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), on the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Toronto, and as Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed journal Sexual Abuse. Dr. Cantor is no stranger to controversial topics and the science behind them: CBC produced a full-length documentary about his research, and interviews with him have appeared on BBC, CNN, and The New York Times. He and his work are routinely cited in legal proceedings in court cases throughout Canada and the U.S. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

REACTION: Paedophile's speak out in new documentary

REACTION: Paedophile's speak out in new documentary

Paedophile’s ask why we only get involved once they’ve offended. They’re asking why nobody answers their calls for help before it happens, why no therapist, no counsellor will work with them, leaving them to their own devices where offending becomes much more likely. How are you feeling as you read this? Whatever your emotions are, I urge you to go check out my new podcast episode where I review a documentary that questions, if as a society, we are serious about the safety of children, why the hell are we so focused on punishment? By that point it’s too late, the crime has already happened, where we we in all the stages that led up to it, working towards prevention. This documentary is going to blow your mind. I still can’t stop thinking about it. It challenged me in so many ways. REACTION: Can you mix comedy and child sexual abuse?

Does comedy have a place here or not? Can it be used to break the heaviness of this conversation and help it reach new audiences? This comedian, Jonny Pelham goes around the country making jokes about his own story to lighten the load. I go through his work in my new podcast episode. DISCUSSION: Sex offenders and the death penalty

I believe the majority of us would respond with "YES" to this question, but I don't think it's as simple as that. As we look closer, there are many things to consider, for example, what happens if the offender was your son.To supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/ Hosted on Acast. INTERVIEW: Ex-police officer speaks on prosecuting paedophiles

INTERVIEW: Ex-police officer speaks on prosecuting paedophiles

Child abuse is one of the most horrific crimes that can be committed, and the people who are tasked with investigating and prosecuting it face enormous challenges and risks. In this episode of the Jeremy Indika Podcast, Jeremy speaks with Mike Brewer, who is a retired detective sergeant and who has had experience dealing with child abuse cases, especially those involving paedophiles. Mike shares his insights on the nature and extent of this problem, the difficulties in gathering evidence and bringing perpetrators to justice, and the emotional and psychological impact of his work on himself and his colleagues. He also discusses the importance of raising awareness and educating the public about this issue, and how they can help prevent and report child abuse. As much as we, the public, tend to quickly judge police officers and the work they do, especially when we feel that it isn't good enough, it is important to understand that at the end of the day, they are human and it takes a lot to do this kind of job. This is a grippingly powerful and eye-opening conversation that will make you appreciate the courage and dedication of those who protect our children from harm. Don’t miss this episode.I hope you are finding the videos on my channel engaging. To follow more of my work, see link https://jeremyindika.com Hosted on Acast. DISCUSSION: Liam's touching his cousins private parts.

DISCUSSION: Liam's touching his cousins private parts.

We all know that kids love to play together, and it's great for their self-esteem. Being active and using their imagination helps them grow. We watch them play and think everything's fine, right? They seem very active and happy! But here's something to think about: imagine a 7-year-old named Liam and his cousin. They came up with a game that wasn't appropriate, and they kept it a secret from the grown-ups for years. This short story makes us wonder about what children may be exposed to without us knowing and how it can affect them as they grow up.Take a moment to listen to this story. It's a quick one, but it brings up some important aspects about our role as adults in understanding what kids experience behind our backs. It can impact not just their behaviour but also their state of mind. Now, we'd love to hear your thoughts! Let's start a conversation and share our ideas. Come and join us!To see more of my work - https://jeremyindika.com/ Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
