Journey of Fatherhood with Larry Hagner

Journey of Fatherhood with Larry Hagner

On this week’s episode of The Mindful Movement Show we feature a deep conversation with Larry Hagner. Larry Hagner is a husband, father of four boys, and the founder of the Dad Edge Podcast and Movement. His mission is to empower men to live and lead legendary lives. He accomplishes this objective by offering skills, tools, and community to create legendary marriages, epic connections with their kids, master their personal finances, optimize their health.

If you feel stuck; perhaps you’re numbing out, running away from your problems, and not being the role model your kids deserve - this episode is for you. If you desire to improve, grow, and change to become the best version of yourself as a person, partner, and parent - this episode offers very real tools to do so.

Our conversation with Larry goes deep, as he describes the challenges he faced growing up without a consistent presence from his father. He paints a picture of what it was like to have a revolving door of men in his life, and describes the tools he learned along the way to overcome abandonment issues.

Larry talks about how his rock bottom moment compelled a journey to become an emotionally aware and available partner and parent. He tells a vivid story of how he put in the work to evolve and grow his skills as a husband and father. He illustrates the importance of viewing fatherhood as a journey that takes practice. In the conversation, Larry offers some really important ways to continually learn and grow as a person, partner and parent.

If you’re interested in learning ways to improve your relationship with yourself, your partner, and your kids please tune into this episode. Larry offers some incredible advice for enhancing intimacy, emotional awareness, and communication skills. He also goes over the benefits of leaning in, being vulnerable with your partner, and co-creating a code of conduct to grow your connection.

The reality of any relationship is - change is inevitable. In order to create a fulfilling and satisfying relationship with your partner or your kids, it takes work. In order to do the work, it is important to have mentors, be in community, grow your skills, and put them into practice. You do not have to be in a place of stagnation any longer. We hope you can use the information and inspiration from this episode to level up as a dad and a partner to your spouse.

So many men struggle in silence. Tony and Larry discuss some of their deepest struggles as fathers as a way to prove to you that you are not alone. They have both had suicidal thoughts and needed others to help them out of their painful situation.

So if you are reading this and are struggling, please know you are not alone in your pain. We hope you resist the temptation to make a permanent decision in the face of temporary struggle. We also hope you can have the courage to reach out to folks like Larry or us to build a community. Your life is valuable and you are not a burden. Please consider sending us a DM or reaching out on social media if there is anything we can do to support you in your path.

The end of the episode is a powerful display of human emotion - and we hope you watch the whole thing!
